About Us
Welcome to Rehoboth Church, we are a community of believers dedicated to worshiping God, growing in faith, and sharing His love with the world. Our church is a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds and life journeys, united by a desire to know Christ and make Him known. Our mission is to love God, love others, and serve the world through the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
Who We Are
This church was initiated by Rev. Solomon Sekar (Founder and Senior Pastor of Rehoboth Church) in 1990. The ministry began with house prayer meetings and street worship. Later, by God’s grace, a dedicated place of worship was provided, at Royapuram, and the church was named Rehoboth.
Rev. Solomon Sekar was originally a follower of the Hindu faith, deeply committed to its rituals, and a successful independent businessman. And got married in the 1980, to Sis. Devasundari. However, in 1985, he had a life-changing encounter with God, which led him to dedicate his life to serving Him.
He dedicated himself to full-time ministry. Despite the challenges he faced in life, a significant turning point was their first son’s difficulty in drinking his mother’s milk, which became the root of their salvation. In that moment, God performed a miracle for their son, leading them to turn their lives to Christ. Despite numerous hurdles, difficulties, and financial barriers in their ministry journey, these challenges brought them even closer to God and transformed their struggles into growth and development in their lives.
In 1995, there was a call for ministers in Andhra Pradesh to pray for deliverance from evil spirits and for the well-being of the believers living there. This led to the establishment of Rehoboth Church’s first branch in Andhra Pradesh. Annual conventions have been held there ever since. This marked the first step toward the expansion of Rehoboth Church and the ministry of Rev. Solomon Sekar.
God blessed both branches of the ministry. The Rehoboth Church Royapuram branch was filled with believers, many of whom traveled long distances from Kolathur every week. Seeing their dedication, Rev. Solomon Sekar decided to establish a church in the Kolathur area to serve them better.
God blessed his vision, and on the 8th of August 2013, the second branch of Rehoboth Church was inaugurated in Kolathur. Prayer meetings are held at this branch every Sunday and Friday.
As time passed, Founder and Pastor Rev. Solomon Sekar served God wholeheartedly and faithfully in every possible way until he entered into God’s holy presence on 18th October 2018.
Mother Devasundari (wife of Rev. Solomon Sekar) also came from a different religious background, but when God touched both of their lives, they began serving Him wholeheartedly.
